A visit to the jaw-dropping Turkish Air lounge was the perfect start to my flight from Turkey back to the States. It was a five-star experience all the way!

The Lounge

How would I describe Turkish Air’s lounge… A work of art. Sprawling and gorgeous. I’m glad I arrived an extra hour or so before boarding just to marvel at the design. Words don’t do it justice – neither do the photos I took. I’m sure there was a decent selection of food, but I was so distracted by the space itself I didn’t notice.

Priority Boarding

I rolled out of the lounge where I found myself mere steps from the gate. Boarding was fast. I was one of the last in business class to board. I tell you, that lounge was something else!

Cabin Configuration

For my flight, the configuration was 2-3-2. All seats were forward-facing. Thankfully, I had a window seat.

Seat

The seats didn’t make for the most captivating presentation. They are quite simple and a bit on the traditional side, but function always beats form. These are comfortable seats. I had plenty of room and cushion. Plenty of legroom too. I also liked the reading light with its adjustable neck.

Meals and Drinks

Quite often in business class, I have an excellent meal, flavorful and well-balanced. Well, on Turkish Air, add substantial to the mix. I felt pleasantly full after my breakfast, which was a delicious quiche with fruit bowl and cheeses. I ate the steamy, mouthwatering bread before I thought to snap a pic. Turkish coffee followed. Delectable. Before all of this, flight attendants brought trays of colorful, refreshing-looking breakfast drinks. I didn’t indulge, but the woman across the aisle drained hers rather quickly.

Service

Exceptional. They take orders verbally, which is a nice touch. They also install comfy mattress pads. Beyond that, they’re careful, pleasant, accommodating, even anticipatory. Someone is always there with a friendly smile and helping hand.

Entertainment Amenities

I sat back and listened to a few blues albums on some high-quality noise-cancelling headphones. They offer quite a range of eclectic music. The music held me captive. While I listened, I scrolled through a huge selection of films and shows. The monitor is bit smaller than those offered on other airlines – 13-inches (maybe). Turkish Air also has great prices on wi-fi.

Convenience Amenities

The pillow provided was one of the largest and most robust I’ve received in business class. Very comfortable – the perfect complement to the lie-flat bed. The blanket thick enough as well. The amenities pack consisted of socks, dental kit, shoehorn, earplugs, and lotion.

From the incredible lounge through the delicious meals, flying business on Turkish Air is a superb experience. Just don’t forget to order the Turkish coffee!
